About this collection

The John F. Kennedy Photographs Collection contains photographs relating directly to President John F. Kennedy's visit to New Orleans on May 4, 1962, passing by Xavier University of Louisiana. President John F. Kennedy visited the city to help dedicate the Nashville Avenue Wharf and to deliver speeches on the space race and foreign trade. 

The Photographs were taken by Charles A. Honore (Class of 1962) while he was still a student at Xavier University of Louisiana.
